Jonathan Hernández Clavijo
Pereira, Colombia, 1988
Audiovisual artist, seed keeper, and artivist rooted in the Andes mountains of Colombia. His creative practice lives at the intersection of art, ecology, and ancestral wisdom, shaped by deep relationships with territory, community, and the rhythms of nature. Raised by seed keepers and nurtured by rivers and forests, sees audiovisual storytelling as a sacred act—a way of witnessing, honoring, and regenerating life.
Through his work in Mostros Lab and Ecolibre creates multisensory experiences that explore regenerative lifestyles, ecological memory, and the evolving intelligence of native seeds. Art has taken him across South America and beyond—sharing with native communities, studying audiovisual design in University of Buenos Aires (UBA), animation in The Nacional University of Colombia (UNAL), and cinematography in L’escola superior de cinema i audiovisuals de Catalunya (ESCAC); working in public media, music, and documentary; with projects like National Geographic, Señal Colombia, Sony music, La Comisión de La Verdad, Pacifista, Baudó Agencia Pública and many more. Always returning to the question of how we co-create a meaningful way home, in harmony with the land.
His projects expand the creative practice by weaving together his roles as artist, community member, and ecological steward. It is not just about documenting resilience, but practicing it—through rituals of observation, mutual care, and creating the sacred relationship between people and place.
